For Christmas this year, I'm taking pictures of all my siblings kids for my parents, and my sisters and brother. We spent the day at my sister's today for Thanksgiving, so we took the kids out back and had some fun. I'm pretty pleased with the results, I think they'll look great printed and framed. I think the kids had a good time too.

Halloween, you've come and gone
So much for my goal of taking pictures on a weekly basis, right? We haven't had a photo outing since the super hero pictures, however I have been filling my time with editing photos I didn't like the first go around. I'm slowly building a collection of completed items. My birthday was two weeks ago tomorrow, and I wanted to do something really different this year. A local salon hosted a photo shoot to celebrate their one year anniversary on 10/10/10, see here in their photo albums, and I thought it was pretty smart. I browsed the web a bit and came across an interesting idea for Halloween photos, see here, and decided that was exactly what I was going to do. Thank you Trevor Ray Thompson.
The party was a blast, and I got some awesome pictures for memories, thanks to all my friends.
My sister's best friend, Shawna, wants us to take photos of her sweet family, and I am elated. I want to do this for them, and get experience at the same time. By not charging, I will feel no pressure. Besides, she has cooked plenty of amazing meals for me, so its the least I can do, right? I'll be out of town this weekend, so my goal is the second weekend in November. Stay tuned.

Rain Rain don't go away
Goodbye 4day-weekend, I'll miss you. I had high hopes for this weekend - a lovely friend was visiting from out of town and brought awesome dresses to take pictures in. We were scheduled for Sunday, but this and that happened, and we actually did not have the time it takes to prepare, shoot, and edit, so our date will have to be postponed. Here's a little something from her last visit.
I've been thinking today, though, that this super rainy weather is something I should take advantage of. Its supposed to be raining all week long, and the sun doesn't set until about 8:30 in the evenings. I'll think up some ideas, brave the weather, and pray I don't get pneumonia. Wish me luck.

Batgirl
A good friend and coworker of mine owns a small, seedy bar downtown as a side business. Its incredibly tiny, and when they have live music on weekends I can only imagine its even tinier. My boyfriend and I checked out the place last week, as Jon had made me an offer I couldn't refuse - hang my photos in the bar. Its a great idea, I would be more than happy to not only have an avenue to display my work, but to have something to work toward. My creativity often becomes stagnant when I'm counting on myself to come up with ideas. But having experienced college, i.e. procrastination, I work best under pressure.
I brainstormed for about 24 hours after Jon made the offer - he told me on Friday and I promised him I'd have something by Monday. I decided to do pictures of Batgirl in the jungle. I had great visions that I don't even remember (should've sketched them, I always regret not doing that), and it didn't come out quite as I'd planned, but I managed to get a few semi-successful end products. The problem now, though, is I am doubting all of my creativity. I mean, do people really want to see a photo of a girl in a batgirl mask? What DO people want to see in a bar? Creative stagnation has set in again, and I have yet to give Jon anything. I'm so disappointed in myself.

And so an adventure begins...
I love color. Its one of my very favorite things in this world. It is really like music - the 7 colors of the rainbow, to me, are equivalent to the 7 notes that make up all beautifully orchestrated symphonies. There are variations of every note, patterns that work to please our ears, theories and methods as to the best combination's, its endless. And its beautiful. Colors are the notes for our eyes.So I am beginning an adventure with my photography-inclined boyfriend. He works the camera(s) and framing, and I'll do the setup and design. My goal is to post a photo a week, but as we both work a 40 hour job, it is sometimes difficult to plan, schedule, execute, and complete even 1 idea. Here we go...
